6th ISA Council of National Associations Conference

The International Sociological Association announces the 2025 Conference for the Council of National Associations (CNA) representatives. Members will gather to deliberate on Building Resilient Sociologies: Voices, Visions and Ventures.

Sociologists have always used research and analysis to focus on the structures of societies, paying particular attention to the power-laden interactions between groups, individuals, and organizations. As many of the fast-changing political/economic/social, and technological structures alter the global-to-local material and non-material terrains of our existence, it is a good time to collectively reflect on our present and future (and the paths that brought us here).

• How are sociological associations contending with 21st-century challenges?
• How are people and groups struggling to build secure lives that reflect their human dignity?
• Whose important voices and visions are emerging in different parts of the world?
• How are sociologists strengthening and/or reshaping concepts that have, historically, constituted the core of the discipline in their part of the world?
• How are sociologists helping to build resilient relationships with their peers, including across the world, and what is the quality of these intellectual and caring relationships?

This invitation-only event is intended to foster international collaboration, discuss challenges facing the discipline, and develop new initiatives in sociology.

You are invited to present papers and participate in panels and workshops on these and many other broadly related themes at the 6th ISA CNA Conference. We expect to enjoy an intellectual feast, critical conversations, and exchanges to collectively contribute to the resilient world of sociologies.
