Online Summer Immersion Program 2020 for High School Students

The FLAME University Summer Immersion Program (FU-SIP) for high school students will be held online. The program offers high school students an opportunity to experience liberal education by strengthening their skills through a mix of exciting academic and non-academic courses which provides a basis for a strong foundation to succeed in college and beyond.

The curriculum is interdisciplinary, delivered in a framework that embraces the spirit of liberal education at FLAME University - a spirit that places special emphasis on critical thinking, research, engagement with diverse ideas and perspectives, while inculcating the values of leadership, teamwork and effective communication.

The courses have been designed to be contemporary and relevant, with content and delivery that goes beyond what is covered in a traditional high-school classroom.


The modules that will be covered in the program include:

  1. Critical Thinking
  2. Beyond Pink and Blue - Understanding Gender Roles and Stereotypes
  3. The Biology and Conservation of Sea Turtles in India
  4. Climate Change and Pandemics – Converging Threats
  5. Digital Footprints
  6. Into the Mind of the Joker
  7. Learn Accounting Using the Game of Monopoly
  8. The Exciting World of Data Visualization
  9. Programming Can Be Fun!
  10. Creative Writing and Rethinking the Past

Applicants must be Xth, XIth or XIIth grade high school students. Applicants must be minimum 14 years of age as on 15th March, 2020. They can be residents of any country. Copy of grade sheets of the previous 2 years will be required.

Batch I – May 18, 2020 (Monday) to May 22, 2020 (Friday)
Batch II – July 20, 2020 (Monday) to July 24, 2020 (Friday)

All participants will be hosted at the state-of-the-art FLAME University campus for a first hand experience of a day at FLAME after the university resumes its physical operations completely. The date for this experience will be announced later.

Application forms and cheques/demand drafts should be submitted by the following deadlines:

  • Batch I – May 11, 2020
  • Batch II - July 13, 2020

Confirmation emails will be sent to the students.

  • INR 25,000/- (inclusive of service tax)
  • Fees should be paid through bank transfer* / cheque / demand draft and made payable to “FLAME University Pune” at Pune.
  • In case of payment by cheque / demand draft, please write the applicant name, application number and “FLAME University Summer Immersion Program” at the back of the cheque / demand draft.
  • Payment by cheque / demand draft should be mailed to FLAME University, 401, Phoenix Complex, Bund Garden Road, Opp. Residency Club, Pune - 411001, Maharashtra, India.

  • Fee paid shall not be refundable under any circumstances.

To apply, the applicant must:

  • Apply online by completing the application form at www.flame.edu.in/academics/summer-immersion-program/apply.
  • Attach a recent color photograph on the application form.
  • After application submission, a confirmation email along with the application number will be sent to the student.

  • Submit the program fee through bank transfer / cheque / demand draft.
  • Applications without the payment of program fee will not be accepted and will be deemed incomplete.
  • Important information about registration, schedule, etc. will be sent after the payment is received.
