FLAME University

UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM

Turning Passion to Purpose

* Only offered as a minor.

The Minor in Performing Studies at FLAME University offers students a rich, interdisciplinary engagement with the performing arts—Music, Dance, and Theatre—within the broader context of liberal education. The program integrates practical training, creative exploration, and theoretical understanding to develop well-rounded performers, thinkers, and scholars of performance.

Students gain exposure to diverse artistic traditions and practices, both Indian and global, while learning to appreciate performance as a vital mode of human expression and cultural production. Through courses that combine studio practice with academic inquiry, the minor encourages students to explore the intersections of performance, aesthetics, history, and society.

The curriculum progresses from foundational to advanced levels, enabling students to build technical proficiency alongside analytical and critical skills. Whether through vocal or instrumental practice, choreography, acting, or stagecraft, students are guided to cultivate their artistic voice and interpretive abilities. The minor emphasizes experimentation, interdisciplinarity, and reflective practice—connecting performance with fields such as literature, visual arts, and cultural studies.

Workshops, collaborations, and interactions with artists and researchers complement classroom learning, fostering creativity, discipline, and innovation. Ultimately, the Minor in Performing Studies aims to nurture confident, expressive, and culturally aware individuals capable of contributing meaningfully to the evolving landscape of performing arts.
