FLAME University Undergraduate Program Admission Process FAQ In Light Of The COVID-19 Situation

In the wake of WHO’s declaration of Covid-19 as a pandemic, and Government of India’s directive for a nationwide lockdown, FLAME University’s admissions team has been working tirelessly to come up with innovative solutions to seamlessly conduct the university’s undergraduate admission process. Safeguarding the health and well-being of all our stakeholders is of utmost importance. Being proactive to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus and minimize exposure and risk have been at the heart of the necessary decisions taken by the FLAME University’s admissions team.

The following FAQ will answer the measures that have been taken to ensure the admission process at FLAME University is not adversely affected by the current situation. Q) Is there any change to the application process?
A) No. There is no change to the online application process. To apply to FLAME University’s undergraduate program, please visit http://apply.flame.edu.in.

 

Q) Is there any change to the selection criteria?
A) No. There is no change to the selection criteria. We will assess and select students as per the earlier stated parameters on our website.

 

Q) How has FLAME University’s undergraduate admission process changed given the current global pandemic?
A) Instead of inviting students to be physically present at an admission centre in particular cities (Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune), FLAME University’s admissions process will be completely conducted online until further notice. You will be able to attend FLAME University’s undergraduate admission process from home.

Q) Is there any change to the FLAME Entrance Aptitude Test (FEAT)?
No. There is no change to the FLAME Entrance Aptitude Test (FEAT). FEAT is an online examination for applicants who do not have a SAT or ACT score. Even if you have a SAT or ACT score, but would like to take FEAT, you can opt to do so while applying to FLAME University’s undergraduate program on the application portal. You will be able to take the FEAT online from home. FEAT has no negative marking. FEAT is of 120 minutes duration and is divided into 4 sections, as given below:

  • Section 1: Verbal Ability - 40 Questions (50 marks)
  • Section 2: Reasoning (Analytical and Logical) - 20 questions (40 marks)
  • Section 3: Quantitative ability - 20 questions (30 marks)
  • Section 4: General knowledge - 20 questions (20 marks)

 

Q) Is there any change to the Essay component of the admission process?
A) No. There is no change to the Essay component of the admission process. Applicants will be expected to complete the Essay online from home after they complete the FEAT. As was the case earlier, students will get 15 minutes to complete the essay.

 

Q) How will the online FEAT and Essay be proctored? Will I be monitored?
A) The online FEAT and Essay will be conducted using the latest remote proctoring technology. You will be monitored. You are required to provide permission for webcam and microphone. Please ensure the room is sufficiently lit.

 

Q) I have SAT or ACT scores. Do I still need to take FEAT?
A) If you have SAT or ACT scores and have not opted to take the FEAT on FLAME University’s application portal, you do not need to take FEAT. Only Essay and Personal Interview will be conducted for you. Kindly upload your standardized test scores on the application portal. You can also submit your scores directly to FLAME University. Our SAT DI Code is 6784 and our ACT college code is 8974.

 

Q) Will the FEAT, Essay and Personal Interview be conducted on the same day as was the case earlier?
A) FEAT and Essay will be conducted on the same day. The Personal Interview will be conducted on the next day. An email will be sent to you at least four days in advance regarding your schedule for both days. Kindly note, you will have to attend the admission process on both days, without which, your selection status will not be updated.

 

Q) I have already applied for Campus Cycle II (March 2020) and Regular Cycle II (April 2020). Do I need to apply again?
A) No. You do not need to apply again. Your admission cycle will automatically be changed to ‘Online Cycle’.

 

Q) What are the dates for the ‘Online Cycle' and 'Online Cycle II’?
A) The ‘Online Cycle' and 'Online Cycle II’ will be conducted on a rolling basis until further notice. Applicants will be invited to attend the ‘Online Cycle' and 'Online Cycle II’ with a minimum four-day notice period. The ‘Online Cycle’ will commence from April 11, 2020. The ‘Online Cycle II’ will commence from May 14, 2020.

 

Q) If I have not applied already, what is the deadline to apply for the ‘Online Cycle' and 'Online Cycle II’?
A) The deadline to apply for the ‘Online Cycle’ is May 11, 2020 and the deadline to apply for the 'Online Cycle II' is June 22nd, 2020. In light of current circumstances and the uncertainties surrounding examinations of various Indian and International Board exams, FLAME University’s application portal will accept applications on a continuous basis. We are monitoring the situation closely and will update in case of any change.

 

Q) How will I be informed about my online admission process dates?
A) You will receive two emails on your registered email id. One will detail the day and time for FEAT (if applicable) and Essay. The second will communicate the day and time of your Personal Interview. System requirements will also be communicated.

 

Q) Which portal or URL do I need to visit to participate in the online admission process?
A) Details of how to attend FLAME University’s online admission process will be communicated to you on your registered email id.

 

Q) What identity proof do I need to keep with me for the online admission process?
A) AADHAR card or PAN card or Passport will serve as an identity proof for you to attend FLAME University’s online admission process. Only originals shall be treated as valid proof of identity. You are required to keep the same handy during the entire online admission process.

 

Q) What is the minimum computer/browser configuration and internet bandwidth requirement to complete the online admission process?
A) Chrome version 63 and above, Internet Explorer version 10 and above, Firefox version 52 and above and Safari version 12 and above will support FLAME University’s online admission process. You will need a webcam (internal or external) enabled computer with stable internet bandwidth of => 512 kbps.

 

Q) Can I use a Tablet or a Mobile phone for the online admission process?
A) No. Only a desktop or laptop can be used for the online admission process.

 

Q) I do not have access to a computer which meets your minimum configuration and internet bandwidth requirement. What should I do?

Q) In the event of possible technical issues during the online admission process, how can I seek help for troubleshooting?
A) A help desk contact number will be displayed on each page of the online FEAT. Additionally, a member of FLAME University’s admissions team will be constantly available. You can call on +91-7397917921 or +91-20- 67906292/6312/6313 to seek help.

 

Q) What should I do if the dates assigned to me for the online admission process are not suitable?
A) We will try and accommodate rescheduling requests on a case to case basis. We will try our best to accommodate your requests. However, given the volume of applicants, in case we cannot accommodate the change, we apologize for the inconvenience and you are expected to participate in the admission process on the assigned dates.

 

Q) Final exam schedule of some subjects for the Indian boards (e.g. CBSE) have not been announced yet. What should I do in case of a clash of schedule?
A) We understand that new dates for several Indian Board exams are yet to be announced. We are constantly monitoring and reviewing the situation. We will try our best to accommodate your requests. However, given the volume of applicants, in case we cannot accommodate the change, you are expected to participate in the admission process on the assigned dates.

 

Q) Is there a change to the result declaration date?
A) Given that the ‘Online Cycle’ and 'Online Cycle II' will be conducted on a rolling basis, results will also be declared on a continuous basis which will enable you to make an informed decision for your higher education. Your result will be declared within 10-12 days after completion of your online admission process.

 

Q) If you are selected for admission to FLAME University’s undergraduate program, by when do you need to confirm your acceptance?
A) Deadlines to accept the offer for admission and other applicable dates will be communicated in the offer for admission which will be sent to selected students on their registered email id.

 

Q) If and when the Covid-19 situation normalizes, will you announce future admission cycles?
A) Due to the current evolving circumstances, we are constantly monitoring the Covid-19 situation. As of now, there are no future admission cycles planned. In case there are any changes, the same shall be announced on the university website. You are advised to visit our website regularly for any update.

 

Q) I am a student of an International Curriculum/Board (International Baccalaureate, Cambridge, etc.). Our examinations have/may be postponed/cancelled. What should I do?
A) FLAME University’s Admissions Office is cognizant of these updates. We will await more information from the respective International Boards/Organizations and Indian regulators and update you of the same. In the meantime, you should complete the FLAME University application and participate in the admission process.

 

Q) Will you accept my predicted scores/grades of International Curriculum/Board from school?
A) FLAME University is awaiting more information from the respective International Boards/Organizations and Indian regulators on the next steps. We will apprise you as soon as there is any update. In the meantime, you should complete the FLAME University application and participate in the admission process.

 

Q) My past academic records, extracurricular achievements and other certificates relevant to my application to FLAME University’s undergraduate program is not with me, but with my school. What should I do?
A) If you cannot upload the required documents on FLAME University’s application portal at this stage, as the same is with your school/college, kindly leave a comment on the application portal (in the ‘other details’ section). You are still requested to complete the FLAME University application and participate in the admission process. Your admission status will be changed to ‘Documents Awaited’ and your candidature will be assessed once you update all the relevant documents. Past academic record and entrance test scores (SAT or ACT, if applicable) are required to assess and update your admission status.

 

Q) Due to the delay/cancellation of various Indian and International Board examinations, will my eligibility towards FLAME University’s undergraduate program be impacted?
A) FLAME University is awaiting more information from the respective International Boards/Organizations and Indian regulators on any changes to the eligibility requirements. We will apprise you as soon as there is any update. However, please note that it is your responsibility to check whether you meet FLAME University’s eligibility requirement for the undergraduate program. FLAME University has full right to disqualify you at any stage of the application process if found ineligible. In such a case, your admission, even if selected, will stand annulled.

 

Q) Is there any change to the start of the academic session 2020?
A) Due to the current evolving circumstances, we are constantly monitoring the Covid-19 situation. Academic session 2020 is re-scheduled to commence in August / September 2020. Important dates will be communicated to our admitted students. In case there are any further changes, the same shall be communicated as well.
