Faculty at FLAME University enjoys enormous opportunities and avenues for cutting-edge research in their respective areas of specialization strengthening the vision, awareness and synergy of the inter-disciplinary approach of education.

Excellence achieved through this research, in turn, creates new learning and further enriches the diversity of knowledge by synthesizing and integrating insights from a range of disciplines. This unique academic cooperation between multiple disciplines does transcend the boundaries of disciplines, and results in an insightful and consequential research output. This process of creating synergy between excellence and diversity - a dynamic motion that advances academic learning through constant interconnectivity - is the basic driving force that refines education and research at the University.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused an unprecedented global economic and social crisis, triggering various interventions by governments across geographic regions. The pandemic is significantly affecting all aspects of life, including the energy sector. In this paper, we investigate the bearing of COVID-19 and non-pharmaceutical interventions on the energy returns across 104 global energy indices in 34 countries over the period 1 January to 1 November 2020. Our analyses show that the daily growth in both confirmed cases and cases of death caused by COVID-19 has significant negative direct effects on global energy returns. We also find evidence that various non-pharmaceutical interventions have a significant impact on global energy returns. More specifically, we find that workplace closure and restrictions on internal movement have a positive and significant impact on global energy returns. In contrast, cancellation of public events, closing down public transport, and public information campaigns have a negative and significant impact on them. School closures and international travel controls are, however, negative but insignificant. For energy security, the cornerstone of every economy, our results support the argument for the urgent need for massive investment in the energy sector to boost economic activities, create sustainable jobs, and ensure the resilience of the economies hit by the pandemic.

With the global warming increasing day by day, depletion of Ozone at alarming rate. Green House gases (GHGs) emissions rate not decreasing and Countries not Milling to reduce industrial emissions at the expense offinancial growth. Authorities have now started thinking of alternate ways to reduce pollution. Some of the few are power generation from Nuclear energy, Wave, Wind, Solar energy. Increasing the efficiency of fossil fuel plants, absorbing the carbon dioxide (CO2) emission from these plants and not letting them go to air and store them deep inside the sea. Alternate propulsion vehicle like Electric Vehicles (EVl, Hydrogen-powered vehicle, Liquefied natural gas (LNG) to reduce Green House gases emissions to the atmosphere are a few steps towards reducing emissions. With increasing support from Governments worldwide viz. India, United States, China, Germany and Europe emphasis is being given to EV technology, and we may see EV replacing the conventional Gasoline and Diesel powered vehicle, we will observe a decline in sales figure of the same in coining years. Electric Vehicles (EVs), as expected to help save energy and reduce carbon die oxide emissions, are facing a rapid growth in China [1]. A general perception is built amongst masses that Electric vehicle (EV) is Zero-emission vehicles. The remotely located and relatively marginalized states of northeast India have historically been a Congress bastion, despite posing continued challenges to the nation-building project through many insurgency movements. The success of the grand old party depended on creating ‘umbrella coalitions’ with diverse ethnic groups to sustain power. However, since General elections 2014, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has successfully challenged the dominance of Congress, particularly in the state of Assam. In this context, this paper seeks to discuss recent shifts in electoral dynamics in Assam and its implication for a region hitherto considered peripheral. The paper situates the BJP’s emergence as the new locus of power in the long-term processes of party politics in Assam and discusses the resultant shifts in social alignments, cleavages and political issues in the multi-ethnic landscape of the state. It also explores the role of the RSS in negotiating its larger ideological interests with local political realities of the state and its ability to appropriate local cultural symbols. The paper concludes that the unprecedented rise of the BJP, which is a result of the changing political opportunity structures in Assam, will nevertheless be tested severely due to the state’s multi-ethnic character and complex, localized social fault lines.
