BIO

Prof. Swapnil Tawde is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at FLAME University. He has completed the Fellow Programme in Management (FPM - PhD Equivalent) in Marketing from S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR), Mumbai and holds a Master’s Degree in Management Studies from St. Francis Institute of Management & Research (University of Mumbai).


Prof. Swapnil brings over six years of professional experience in the advertising industry, complemented by five years of doctoral research experience at SPJIMR, Mumbai. His academic journey integrates industry insights with rigorous research in consumer behaviour and sustainability marketing. His doctoral research examined green consumer psychology, with a focus on understanding the cognitive and psychological mechanisms that shape sustainable consumption decisions.


His research interests include Green Consumer Psychology, Sustainability Marketing, Environmental Claims and Eco-labels, Sustainable Consumption, Marketing Analytics, Consumer Behaviour, and Experimental Research. His work examines how consumers interpret environmental information and make sustainable consumption decisions.


Prof. Swapnil’s research has been published in international peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Cleaner Production, Journal of Consumer Behaviour, The International Review of Retail, Distribution and Consumer Research, and Advances in Consumer Research. His work has been presented at the American Marketing Association (AMA) Winter and Summer Academic Conferences (USA) and NASMEI Conferences hosted by Great Lakes Institute of Management across multiple editions between 2022 and 2025.


He is a member of the Society for Consumer Psychology (SCP) and has served as a reviewer for journals including the Journal of Cleaner Production, Sustainability, and the Journal of Environmental Psychology, as well as academic conferences such as AMA and ANZMAC. He is currently pursuing professional development in Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Verification, Accounting, and Reporting.
