Prof. N. Jayasankar has a Doctorate Degree in Operations Research from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo, USA. He also holds an MBA in Finance and a Master’s Degree in Economics from SUNY at Buffalo and an MSc. (Tech.) Degree in Instrumentation from the Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani.

Prof. N. Jayasankar is a Professor of Practice – Finance at FLAME University. Prof. Jayasankar holds a Doctorate Degree in Operations from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo, USA. He holds an MBA in Finance and a Master’s Degree in Economics from SUNY at Buffalo. He also holds an MSc. (Tech.) Degree in Instrumentation from the Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani.
Prof. Jayasankar worked as an officer of the 1992 Batch of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) for the Government of India in various positions for about 34 years including as the Chief Commissioner of Income-tax, Central-1, Mumbai and as Member, Board for Advance Rulings (BAR) III, Mumbai wherein he supervised the investigation and taxation of economic offences and adjudicated towards ensuring tax certainty. In his earlier assignments across India in Mumbai, Chennai, Chandigarh, Bhubaneswar and Cochin, he has worked in multiple verticals and domains of Direct Taxation and its Administration including Investigations, Exemptions, Assessments and Adjudication, Withholding Taxes, International Taxation and Transfer Pricing.
He has involved himself in creating knowledge and learning systems in Fiscal Policy, Financial Management, Tax Laws and Jurisprudence, the Philosophy and Principles of Taxation, Human Resource Capacity Building, Risk Management and Transfer Pricing. As a faculty member and academic administrator at the National Academy of Direct Taxes (NADT), Nagpur, the apex training institution of the IRS, he modernised and innovated its programs by redesigning curriculums, launching new courses, engaging with leading global organizations and instituting best practices.
His academic and research interests are in the areas of Management Science (Quantitative Approaches to Decision Making and Problem Solving), Public Economics and Taxation, Finance and Derivatives, Intangibles in Valuation, and the evolution of Human Consciousness and Capital unto Values-rich Academics and Education. His research in Revenue Management, Dynamic Pricing and Inventory Management has been published as well as presented in conferences held at Denver and San Francisco, USA. He has taught as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Kennesaw State University, Atlanta, Georgia, USA and the Indian Institutes of Management at Kozhikode and Tiruchirapalli, spoken at international events and trained at Duke University, USA, the IBFD, Amsterdam, the OECD, Paris and the IIMs at Ahmedabad and Bangalore. He has also worked as a Research Assistant in technology transfer and commercialization of developed research in the USA, as a Scientist in the Department of Electronics, Government of India, New Delhi and as a Faculty Member in Electronics Engineering in Coimbatore, India.
