Prof. Nandima Angom has Doctorate Degree in International Development from the University of Sussex, United Kingdom. She also holds an MPhil in Social Work and a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a Specialisation in Dalit and Tribal Studies and Action from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. She has completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work with Specialisation in Rural Development from Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
BIO

Prof. Nandima Angom is an Academic Specialist - Sociology at FLAME University. She holds a Doctorate Degree in International Development from the University of Sussex, United Kingdom. She holds an MPhil in Social Work and a Master’s Degree in Social Work in Dalit and Tribal Studies and Action  from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai where she was honoured as the Best Student for her academic excellence. She has completed Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work with a Specialisation in Rural Development from Tata Institute of Social Sciences.


Prof. Nandima Angom has worked as Senior Research Officer at Prayas, Centre for Criminology and Justice, School of Social Work, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai for five months. She has also worked as Young Professional at Kudumbashree - National Resource Organisation.

Her research interests include Sociology of Gender and Development, Sociology of Tribes, Marginalisation and Public Policy, Rural Development, Social Movement and Social Inequality, Decolonial Theory and Methodologies, Informal Economy, Indigenous/Tribal Women and Northeast India.
