Prof. Muhammed Suhail PS is an Assistant Professor of Finance at FLAME University, Pune. He holds a doctoral degree in Finance from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, a Master of Business Administration (Finance) from Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kerala, and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Taxation) from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala.
Before embarking on his doctoral studies, Prof. Suhail gained industry experience at Ernst & Young (EY), Kochi, and completed an internship in the Accounts division at Apollo Tyres Ltd. During his doctoral tenure at IIT Madras, he served as a teaching assistant across multiple academic programs. He has also contributed as an instructional designer and part-time faculty member for online learning platforms, including Learnwise and Prepwise, developing and delivering courses in finance and accounting to a broad and diverse learner base.
Prof. Suhail’s research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes, and presented at leading national and international conferences. His scholarly work focuses on early warning signals of financial distress, financial reporting quality, and corporate governance practices among financially distressed firms. His research interests span financial distress, insolvency and bankruptcy, corporate governance, earnings management, financial reporting, ESG, Greenwashing Real estate finance and Fintech.
