Prof. Manoj Kumar Panda is Ph.D. in Economics from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata; Post-Doctoral Fellowship: Yale University; M.A. and BA in Economics from Sambalpur University;

Prof. Manoj Kumar Panda is a Professor and Chair Professor in Economics in FLAME University. He holds a Doctorate Degree in Economics from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata and was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Yale University on a Ford Foundation fellowship. He also has a Master’s and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Sambalpur University.


With over four decades of expertise in macroeconomic analysis and development policy, he is known for his work on Computable General Equilibrium models and was a Member of the Sixteenth Finance Commission (2024–2025). He has directed two premier national research institutions, the Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi, and the Centre for Economic and Social Studies, Hyderabad. 


His research spans over macroeconomic modelling, poverty analysis, human development index, and carbon emissions. He has collaborated with international organisations like the World Bank, FAO, UN-ESCAP, and the Asian Development Bank. His teaching areas include Applied General Equilibrium Models, Environmental Economics and Development Economics.
