Prof. Amit Kumar Das

Prof. Amit Kumar Das is an Associate Professor - Business Analytics at FLAME University. He holds a Ph.D. in Optimization and an M.Tech. in Manufacturing Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur, formerly known as Bengal Engineering and Science University (BESU), Shibpur.

He brings over ten years of combined industry, research, and academic experience. Before entering academia, he spent more than six years in the manufacturing industry, where he worked in production operations, process improvement, quality management, and data-driven decision-making. He subsequently served as a Research Associate at IIT Kharagpur and as a Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, contributing to research in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and intelligent systems.

Prior to joining FLAME University, he spent nearly three and a half years as a faculty member at IIM Mumbai, where he taught and conducted research in analytics, artificial intelligence, optimization, and cyber risk management. He has published over 30 research articles in reputed international journals and has presented his work at several prestigious international conferences.

His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Intelligent Optimization, Decision Analytics, Cyber Risk Management, Smart Manufacturing, and AI-enabled Decision Support Systems.
