However, the more schools she visited, the more uneasy she became about sending her to a guided and instructed environment. She feared that her unique interests and passions would not be nurtured and that she would be forced to adhere to a strict curriculum that might not cater to her learning style. she didn’t want her to lose her freedom to explore and experiment and worried that her pace of learning wouldn’t be respected.

So, she and her husband made the unconventional decision to embrace unschooling or self-led learning. They didn’t want to force our daughter into a conventional system that didn’t prioritize her individuality. Instead, they allowed her to learn at her own pace, follow her interests, and explore the world around her organically.

Their learning journey took them to off-grid places, where they learned about farming, waste management, and simple living from various tribes. They also explored different subjects like math, science, Hindi, art, and more, without a fixed curriculum or routine. They found that trusting the process and respecting our daughter’s pace has been the key to her learning success.

They faced criticism from those who do not understand their approach to learning. But they believed that their role as parents is to provide a safe and loving environment that allows their daughter to grow and learn in her unique way.
