Bienvenue, Willkommen and Welcome to students of FLAME.

FLAME University is committed to enhancing the educational experience of students by encouraging and providing them with opportunities to operate in multilingual and multicultural settings at an international level.  This exposure adds value to the students by diversifying their learning experience; thereby enhancing their employability by giving them demonstrable experience of living and learning in a culture which is different from their own. Studying in a new educational setting helps them to hone their extant skills and develop new ones.

Furthering this commitment, students learning French and German at FLAME University travelled to France and Germany respectively to learn the language from the native speakers. This gave them a cultural and social understanding which would help them respond appropriately in diverse situations. It gave them a realistic experience and helped them in language immersion. It enabled the students to enrich their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills thereby making their communication in the language more dynamic. It provided them with a comprehensive understanding of the language, its construction and usage in the cultural context.

In an 11-day trip, a total of 22, including undergraduate and postgraduate students travelled to France to take a language course at France Langue in Paris in the form of classes during the day and later visits to numerous landmark places like Le musée du Louvre, d'Orsay and le château de Versailles, Disneyland and some other scenic places around Paris. This opportunity was definitely “la vie en rose” for the students learning the French language at FLAME University.

Similarly, 24 German language students went on an 11-day trip to Germany doing a language course at IIK berliner ID (Institut für Internationale Kommunikation). They took classes during the day and visited landmarks monuments like the German parliament, the state library, the museum, European School of Management and Technology (ESMT) Berlin in the evenings. As the German proverb goes “Der Hunger kommt beim Essen”, the more they learn, the more the students will find the German language fun to learn.

Thus, this language immersion trip addded authentic cultural richness to the language development of the FLAME University students.
