Three teams from FLAME University emerged as finalists in the Google Online Marketing Challenge 2017. They are amongst the Top 5 teams in the Asia Pacific region. Describing the performance of the finalists, Google says, “these teams demonstrated excellent AdWords proficiency and understanding of online advertising by executing very well in all of the key performance areas and creating campaigns that yielded great results.”

The Google Online Marketing Challenge is a unique opportunity for students to experience and create online marketing campaigns using Google AdWords. Over 120,000 students and professors from almost 100 countries have participated in the past 10 years helping over 15,000 businesses and nonprofits grow online.

With a $250 AdWords advertising budget provided by Google, students develop and run an online advertising campaign for a business or non-profit organization over a three-week period. The teams that develop and communicate the most successful campaigns win prizes, including trips to Google offices. Students also have the opportunity to participate in the optional AdWords Certification category by studying and passing the necessary exams to become an AdWords Certified individual in the Google Partners platform.

The challenge is open to student teams comprising of three to six members from undergraduate or postgraduate programs, regardless of their major. All students must register under a verified faculty member, lecturer or instructor currently employed by an accredited higher education institute.

The FLAME University student teams won 2nd and 3rd ranks in the Asia Pacific region in the AdWords Business category and 1st rank in the AdWords Social Impact category.
The team that stood second comprised of Neha Mubeen, Diksha Chauhan, Saumya Sampath, Farzana Jeyash, Navneeth Jk and Tanay Gokhale; and the team that stood third comprised of Karan Ajinkya, Mihir Shah, Varun Semwal, Shashank Reddy, Sucharith Prashant and Hemant Singh. The team that ranked first comprised of Chandini Konchanda, Surabhi Damani andYash Tilakraj. All teams were mentored by FLAME faculty, Prof. Sajith Narayanan.

These teams worked on different clients and ran a google adwords campaign for them with a budget $250. All teams worked extremely hard for 3-5 months to achieve this feat. They prepared client pitches, prepared pre- campaign reports, worked with client's digital team, ran an adwords campaign for a month and prepared post campaign reports.

FLAME congratulates the student teams for their efforts and for enhancing the reputation of the University.
