  About the session Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science are fields that are relevant and accessible to people from all backgrounds, whether you're interested in the humanities, social sciences, fine arts, or sciences. In today's world, we all encounter a variety of challenges related to issues such as online security, effective use of the internet, and managing and searching for information. AI has become a game changer in numerous industries, including business, healthcare, and mobile applications. What's fascinating is that AI has a much greater impact on our daily lives than we realize. It is omnipresent and currently the most discussed topic in the corporate world, making it one of the most exciting and sought-after career domains. This discussion will provide an overview of artificial intelligence and data science, as well as some practical applications. We will also discuss how the undergraduate program and the course in Computing and Data Sciences prepare students for industry or higher studies.  
 
Dr. Abraham is the Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Data Sciences at FLAME University, India. He is the Founding Director of Machine Intelligence Research Labs, a not-for-profit Scientific Network for Innovation and Research Excellence connecting industry and academia. The Network with HQ in Seattle, USA has currently more than 1,500 scientific members from over 105 countries. As an Investigator / Co-Investigator, he has won various research grants from Australia, USA, EU, Italy, Czech Republic, France, Malaysia and China. His research interests are in a multidisciplinary environment involving machine intelligence, cyber-physical systems, Internet of things, network security, sensor networks, Web intelligence, Web services, data analytics and applied to various real-world problems. He has authored / co-authored more than 1400+ research publications. One book was translated to Japanese and a few other articles were translated to Russian and Chinese.

About 1,200+ publications are indexed by Scopus and over 1,000+ are indexed by Thomson ISI Web of Science. Some of the articles are available in the ScienceDirect Top 25 hottest articles. He has more than 50,000+ academic citations (h-index of 105 as per google scholar); has given more than 150+ plenary lectures and conference tutorials (in 20+ countries) and have won Nine best paper awards at prestigious International conferences held in Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, China, Bahrain and India. He served as the Chair of IEEE Systems Man and Cybernetics Society - Technical Committee on Soft Computing during (2008-2021) and served as a Distinguished Lecturer of IEEE Computer Society representing Europe during (2011-2013). He was the Editor-in-Chief (2016-2021) of Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence (EAAI) published by Elsevier and also served the editorial board of over 15 International Journals indexed by Thomson ISI. He received the Ph.D. degree from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia (2001), Master of Science Degree from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (1998) and Bachelor of Technology (Honors) degree from the University of Calicut, India (1990).
