FLAME INVESTMENT CONCLAVE
In the landscape of a staggering world economy, India remains an emerging market with tremendous potential to grow further. As Indian financial markets continue to thrive in the Asian economy, FLAME University initiated the FLAME Investment Conclave which started in all earnestness in the year 2017. It has now established an avenue for students to develop a deeper understanding of financial markets in India and abroad. As a Conclave organised "for the students, by the students", the FIC seeks to provide a holistic platform for the exchange of ideas among students and established professionals, who have vast experiences in their respective fields, and impart insights regarding the dynamics of the markets. With a mix of keynote speeches, panel discussions, interactive workshops and networking opportunities, we believe the congregation of various leaders and academicians during the Conclave will undoubtedly provide valuable insights into contemporary financial issues witnessed in India as also globally.
WELCOME TO FLAME INVESTMENT CONCLAVE 2018
Initiated by students from the FLAME University the FLAME Investment Conclave (FIC) is the student-run conclave in India focused on financial markets. Held for the 2nd successive year, the theme for the conclave is “INDIA AS A DESTINATION FOR INVESTMENTS – RISK, RETURNS & THE FUTURE”. Renowned industry professionals are expected to participate and actively contribute to the proceedings of the conclave.
As Indian financial markets evolve and become more dynamic, this year's conclave will comprise interactive learning sessions with senior professionals, alumni and student community. Heightened uncertainty generated by turbulent political events and a worldwide divergence of monetary policy has thrust Asia into the spotlight. Banks face new risks but at the same time are backed by an unmatched potential for growth in the region. Amidst the confluence of increased regulation, volatility and uncertain outlook in the capital markets, new frontiers for growth present themselves, benefitting those who seize these opportunities. These among others, include “Fintech”, “niche investments” and “Wealth Creation and Management”.
As technology advances, Fintech will continue to encroach on the domain of Investments, serving as a major disruptor to the industry. These changes in turn will influence the way banks and financial institutions of tomorrow operate. Will harnessing a new model of collaboration be the best way forward, and how should investment banks position themselves to be at the forefront of these developments?
As a prelude to the conclave, we will publish commentaries under 'Perspectives' on current issues relating to macroeconomic developments and its impact on the RISK RETURN FUTURE. These commentaries serve as a lead up to the conversations that will be held at the FIC 2018. This aims to develop a strong spirit of inquiry during the conclave, allowing delegates to make sense of the nuances and complexities within financial markets.
To maintain our position as one of India’s best platforms which attracts the most distinguished industry professionals and the brightest students to discuss critical issues and trends in the financial sector.
