HAPPENINGS @ FLAME

The latest happenings in the FLAME Community

Raj Shah, MBA student of FLAME University attended HSBC’s Asia Investment Banking Conference 2017 in Hong Kong as an Indian delegate at a Merger & Acquisitions case submission and Sales & Trading competition.

Asia Investment Banking Conference (AIBC) was started in 2009 to establish an avenue for students to develop a deeper understanding of the investment banking market in Asia. As a conference organized "for students, by students", the AIBC seeks to provide a holistic platform for the exchange of ideas among established professionals, who have vast experiences in their respective fields, and student delegates from renowned universities worldwide.

The two day conference consisted of keynote addresses and panel discussions on themes revolving around Mergers & Acquisitions, Sales & Trading, Investment Research and Fintech.

With a mix of keynote speeches, panel discussions, interactive workshops and networking opportunities, the congregation of various leaders and academics during the conference undoubtedly provides valuable insights into contemporary financial issues in Asia.
The biggies of the Banking and Investment world like Pius Chong, Managing Director APAC HSBC Global Banking; Tom Barsha, Managing Director, Bank of America Merrill Lynch; Tony Xu, Head of Macro Sales, Singapore and Hong Kong, Goldman Sachs; Chris Antonelli, Managing Director, Global Head of Prime Finance, Nomura; Anna Tong, Regional Head of Investments, Asia Pacific, Invesco; Cat Ruest, Head of Innovation, UBS Wealth Management; Justina Lee, Bloomberg; and many more addressed the delegates at the conference. The delegates were given an opportunity to interact with these industry professionals over a networking lunch.

The closing keynote address was delivered by John Goff, Global Head of Structuring at Nomura.

FLAME’s Raj Shah got a chance to interact with all these speakers and learn from their experiences. We wish him the very best for his career.
