FLAME School of Fine and Performing Arts presents: A Guest session by Odissi dancer Dr Ileana Citaristi

Recipient of ‘Padmashri’, Dr Ileana Citaristi, an Italian by birth, is an exponent of Odissi dance and Mayurbhanj Chau. She came to Indian dance after years of experience in the traditional as well as experimental theater in Europe. She made Odisha her home since 1979. A senior disciple of Odissi Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, Ileanaji is an acclaimed dancer and an accomplished choreographer.She has given innumerable performances, Lecture demonstrations in all the major centers in India, and abroad.
Her contributions also include articles on Odia culture published in Indian and foreign magazines and research work for film-documentaries on Odissi and Chhau dances. In 1996 she won the National Award for best choreography for her dance direction to the Bengali film 'Yugant'.
