By inviting students across colleges in India we h ope to challenge and engage existing scholarship, to consolidate empirical and theoretical studies on the state of the nation\n\n\nThe conference will be held on the FLAME University campus in Pune, India on 28 February, 2016 and aims at constituting an academic community, facilitating research and advocacy on cultural questions that frame our time.\n\n\nThe topics for the conference include: \n\n\n1. Power, culture and knowledge: Re-examining ho w mythology and society align across Indian history\n\n\n2. The City: Commu nity spaces and reconstitutions of urban forms and solidarities; Gendering discourses on bodies and public space\n\n\n3. Regional writing and minor li teratures: Translating bhasha literatures and comparative studies\n\n\n4. D ramatic adaptations:  Storytelling in narrative modes such as dastangoi, na qal, bideshi, nautanki, tamasha etc.\n\n\n5. Food Studies: Narrating region al identity to de-emphasize geographic boundaries\n\n\n6.
