Abstract:\nThe development sect
 or complements national and international efforts for addressing a wide ran
 ge of well-being concerns by providing support as well as filling knowledge
  gaps while working at international, national and sub-national levels. The
  sector is an important collaborator for joint action on issues ranging fro
 m household-level concerns such as poverty and health to overarching global
  priorities such as refugee crisis and climate change. This presentation pr
 ovides an overview of intricacies associated with measuring impact and crea
 ting learnings from the program implementation at three different levels vi
 z. sub-national (or local), national and international. By means of on the 
 ground implementation experience of health interventions, rural development
  and climate change programs, the presentation outlines the wide canvas for
  learning and engagement on factors that constitute the core of the develop
 ment sector and highlights the ground level challenges and the measures of 
 mitigating them.\n
About the Speaker\nPriyajit Samaiyar is a development se
 ctor professional with more than 17 years of experience in designing and im
 plementing programs with robust monitoring and evaluation systems, processe
 s and frameworks across the Mekong region, East Timor, Pacific and Middle e
 ast while working with International NGOs. Mr. Samaiyar is currently a Corp
 orate Social Responsibility (CSR) professional working as Head of Monitorin
 g and Evaluation with Reliance Foundation. He holds dual master degree in E
 conomics and Population Studies from Madras Christian College and Internati
 onal Institute for Population Sciences respectively with three years of aca
 demic research experience at Centre for Development Studies, Jawaharlal Neh
 ru University, prior to his professional experience.\n
