Dear Student,\nFLAME Upskill is a series of exclusive worksh
 ops for high school students on interdisciplinary topics from various field
 s spanning humanities, sciences, artificial intelligence, communication, sp
 orts, and arts amongst others. The series will focus on helping high school
  students develop crucial skills necessary for a journey of lifelong learni
 ng. The series has been conceptualized as a reflection of the liberal educa
 tion ethos practised and delivered at FLAME University. Attendees will rece
 ive a Letter of Participation in appreciation for their efforts during the 
 workshop. These workshops will be conducted for a limited number of partici
 pants and selection will be done on a first-come-first-serve basis. \n\n\n

 
















 



This workshop is exclusively for high school students
  (Grades X, XI and XII). No other category of participants will be approved
  to attend the workshop. All participants who attend the complete workshop 
 will receive a certificate or letter of participation.

 ion, we will learn what reasoning is as well as a few tools to use to impro

Prof. Michael Hatcher is Assistant Professor – Philosophy 
 and Critical Thinking at FLAME University. He received his Doctorate in Phi
 losophy from University of Southern California. He has completed MA in Phil
 osophy from California State University of Los Angeles and BA in Philosophy
  from Biola University.\n
Prof. Michael has over three years of work experi
 ence and was associated with Valparaiso University.\n
He loves introducing 
 students to the philosophical conversation and the skills required to do it
  effectively. He also enjoys thinking about what beliefs are, what sort of 
 control we have over them, and under what conditions we are blameless in ho
 lding them. In addition, he takes great pleasure in applying the tools of p
 hilosophy to question religious practices – for example, the question of wh
 at ‘praying without ceasing’ consists of.\n
