  introduce different goods and property rights, Garett Hardin’s Tragedy of 
 the Commons, and Elinor Ostrom’s common-pool resource theory. By the end of
  the session, students will be able to distinguish between different kinds 
 of goods and property rights through examples from the global North and the
  global South. Students will learn about alternatives to managing the commo
 ns, apart from Hardin’s solutions of privatization and government regulatio
 n. Students will evaluate approaches to managing the commons as well as cha
