SUMMARY: Conference on Climate Change and India
DESCRIPTION:Theme: Climate change and India: Implications for environment, policy and i
nternational politics\nThis conference is organized by FLAME University's C
entre for Earth and Environment, Centre for Public Policy and Centre for So
uth and Southeast Asia Studies. Dr. Prasad Pathak, Dr. Chaitanya Ravi and D
r. Roger Liu, who are heading these centres, respectively, are bringing tog
ether the leading authorities in India to discuss complexities around clima
te change and India's role in the near future. The centres aim to dissemina
te the salient insights from such discussions to the academics, think-tanks
, media, policymakers, NGO's and students. \nThe impacts of climate change
are intensifying more rapidly than the predictions of scientists. India als
o has its own challenges with respect to climate change. Globally, India is
being looked at as one of the major greenhouse gas emitters when the count
ry wants to grow its economic prowess. In addition to this, India's relatio
nships with other countries and political scenarios at the global stage are
seriously affected by climate change. Panel discussions during the confere
nce will touch upon topics such as Public Policy (India's Climate Change Po
licies), Environmental Studies, International Studies (The International Po
litics of Climate Change: Implications for India), Climate Change: Policy,
Adaptation, & Education.\nFor details, please visit: https://www.flame.
