SUMMARY:CONNEXIONS: Webinar 14 | The Psychology of Sport by Mr. Anil Kumble
DESCRIPTION:Webinar 14 | The Psychology of SportSaturday, July 04, 2020 | 5pm to 6pm IS
T\nMr. Anil Kumble | Former Captain and Head Coach, Indian Cricket Team\n"T
he will must be stronger than the skill," Muhammad Ali famously said. When
it comes to the highest level of sport, there is an unsaid assumption that
success lies more in the mind, the six inches between your ears, than in sk
ills. Why is it that most sportspeople fall short of achieving their potent
ial? What are the unique traits of the ones that do achieve their highest p
otential - the ones we call 'champions'? What goes on in the complex minds
of elite athletes? What makes a successful sports team? Many such themes wi
ll be discussed in this Q&A format interdisciplinary webinar which aims
to connect the dots between sports and psychology drawing from many relate
d fields. Who better than Mr. Anil Kumble to help us navigate the cognitive
and behavioral strategies that go into defining sports performance. \n RE
