SUMMARY:CONNEXIONS: Webinar 05 | The stark choices in a COVID-dominated world: Why is interdisciplinarity indispensable now
DESCRIPTION:The stark choices in a COVID-dominated world: Why is interdisciplinarity in
 dispensable nowWednesday, May 27, 2020 | 7pm to 8pm IST\nProf. Ananya Mukhe
rjee Reed | Board of Studies – FLAME School of Liberal Education, FLAME Uni
versity\n Provost and Vice-President Academic; Professor, Department of Eco
nomics, Philosophy and Political Science - University of British Columbia O
kanagan, Canada; \n Ph.D. - University of Southern California, USA\n Prof.
Santosh Kudtarkar | Dean - FLAME School of Liberal Education\nDisease or st
arvation? Life or Livelihood? These are some of the stark choices facing mi
llions of people across the globe. As many have said, this is a moment of r
eckoning for our approach to economic and social policy. How should we resp
ond to this moment? How can we think of policy frameworks that offer more h
umane solutions? One way would be to ensure that policies are derived from
broad understandings of justice and inclusion, rather than from rigid disci
plinary perspectives. The presentation will argue that an interdisciplinary
approach is needed to achieve such a transformative shift in our approach
 to policy.\n View Presentation (http://www.flame.edu.in/pdfs/webinar/Conne
