DESCRIPTION:Centre for Mathematical Modelling invites you to a talk on "Nonlinear Model
 ling of Social Systems" by Prof. Karmeshu.\nDr. Karmeshu is a recipient of 
 the highest scientific honour in this country, the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar 
 award. Currently, he is a distinguished professor in computer science and e
 ngineering at Shiv Nadar University (SNU). Prior to joining SNU, he served 
 as professor in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) during the period 1986-20
 17. Dr. Karmeshu retired as Professor in the School of Computer and Systems
  Sciences (SC &amp; SS) at JNU and was Dean of the School for three terms. 
 He was adjunct professor in the School of Computational and Integrative Sci
 ences (SC &amp; IS), JNU, where he was also Dean of the School for one term
 . Prior to joining JNU, he was a visiting scientist at the University of St
 uttgart, Germany, visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Waterlo
 o, Canada, and visiting Professor at the National University of Mexico, Mex
 ico. He is a founding Professor at NIIT University Neemrana, Rajasthan and 
 a distinguished research Professor at NCU, Gurgaon. Dr. Karmeshu has publis
 hed over 100 research papers in international journals. His work has been e
 xtensively cited in several journals and books. Several books have devoted 
 exclusive sections discussing his mathematical models and techniques as app
 lied to the study of a variety of systems. He has given many research semin
 ars in the Universities in Europe, Canada, USA and China. Prof. Karmeshu ha
 s extensively contributed to the area of stochastic modeling and simulation
  of Socio-technical Systems, Computational Neuroscience and Performance Mod
 eling of Communication Networks. He worked as a Member of the Editorial Boa
 rds of journals including Stochastic Hydrology and Hydraulics by Springer I
 nternational.\n\nProf. Karmeshu was the elected President of Mathematics Se
 ction of 85th session of Indian Science Congress Association. He has been a
  member of the Senate of IIT (Delhi) and IIT (Roorkee) and presently senate
  member at ABV-IITM (Gwalior). He has been Chairman of the Governing Body o
 f Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences, University of Delhi. Prof. Ka
 rmeshu has served on several committees of CSIR, DRDO, DST, UGC and ICAR. H
 e is a standing committee member of National Mission of Education through I
 CT.\n\nPresently, he is Vice-President of The Consortium of Indian Mathemat
 ics (TIMC). He was the President of Indian Society of Mathematical Modeling
  and Simulation, (IIT, Kanpur). Prof. Karmeshu was also the President of Gw
 alior Academy of Mathematical Sciences. He is a fellow of National Academy 
 of Sciences, Indian Academy for Mathematical Modeling and Simulation (IAMMS
 ), and Institute of Communication Engineers &amp; Information Technologists
 . Prof. Karmeshu is the recipient of Distinguished Service Award of Vijnana
  Parishad of India as well as the recipient of SSI Lifetime Achievement Awa
 rd of Systems Society of India (SSI). For his outstanding contributions to 
 mathematical modeling, Prof. Karmeshu was awarded Dr. C.M. Jacob Gold Medal
  of Systems Society of India in 1990.\n
