  currently a faculty member in Mathematics at the Indian Institute of Scien
 tific Education and Research (IISER), Pune. He received his Ph.D. from Tata
  Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), India where he studied algebraic
  geometry.\n\nIn this talk, Dr. Mallick will describe cellular automata- wh
 ich are one player games with simple rules. He will show how they can be us
 ed for modeling various biological phenomena. Additionally, the talk will l
 ink such games with some results in number theory and geometry.\n\nThis tal
 k is open to all and is aimed at a general audience.\n\n\n\n
