DESCRIPTION:\n\nMrs. Alka Pande is an engineer by background. She did her Mechanical En
 gineering from VNIT, Nagpur (1973) and has outstanding academic achievement
 s to her credit. She was third in order of merit in the Maharashtra Board o
 f Higher Secondary Education and was first among the girls (1968).\n\n\nMrs
 . Pande has work experience of over four decades mostly in Automobile secto
 r.\n\n\nCurrently she is Advisor to ASDC -Automotive Skills Development Cou
 ncil (2013 onwards) with “the automobile domain work experience and knowled
 ge” as critical contributing factors to her present position. She is closel
 y associated with “Skill India” program of Government of India. She has con
 ducted several workshops and addressed seminars on Automotive Skills as a p
 art of Skill India Program. \n\n\nAs Advisor to ASDC, her responsibilities 
 include the Co-ordination work related to enhancement of the Skilling Infra
 structure for the Auto Industry which entails\n\n - Preparation of Qualific
 ation requirements /National Occupation Standards\n - Engagement with Auto 
 Industry &amp; peripheral areas\n - Evaluating / Guiding the Training &amp;
  Educational Institutions towards meeting the Auto sector requirements\n - 
 Defining Process of Assessment of the candidates , trainers and assessors a
 nd training to bridge the gaps\n\nShe has worked with Auto-component indust
 ry for more than thirty years – major experience being with Bosch Chassis S
 ystems / earlier Kalyani Brakes Limited. \n\n\nMrs. Pande has contributed i
 n the Design and development of Brake systems practically for every well kn
 own OEM brand of cars such as Alto, Etios, Swift, Corsa, Scorpio to name ju
 st a few.  \n\n\nShe  has two children. Daughter is working with Morgan Sta
 nley as Executive Director and Son is a doctor and doing his post graduatio
 n at Washington University, USA.\n\n\nMrs. Pande has travelled extensively 
 in India and abroad in connection with her work and considers this as a maj
 or contributor to her personality.\n
