Dr. Sanjay Chandrasekharan is an Associate Professor with the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE), TIFR Mumbai. He is spending a sabbatical year (till 2022 May) at FLAME, working with Dr. Aamod Sane's group.

He holds a PhD in Cognitive Science, from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada, and has worked as a researcher at the Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Calgary, and the Max Planck Institute for Human Development, Berlin. His research interests are discovery, learning, design, and motivation, particularly in the context of science and engineering. His research group (Learning Sciences Research Group) at HBCSE investigates these phenomena from distributed and embodied cognition perspectives, using experimental studies, ethnography, design studies, and machine learning.
