Prof. Malini Dasari is Academic Specialist – Film & TV at FLAME University. She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Cinematography from Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune & has also completed Post Graduate Diploma in Management, IIM, Bangalore.
She has been working in the Film and TV industry as a Director of Photography/Cinematographer for about 15 years now.
Her career in academics began as an External Faculty at Digital Film Academy, Mumbai, and she went on to teach Cinematography at Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune as Associate Professor. She has also been an External Faculty at Mahindra Ecole Centrale, Hyderabad.
Her cinematography in Student short-film 'Avchetan’, got her selected to participate in Budapest Cinematography Masterclass, Hungary in 2003 conducted by internationally renowned master cinematographers, Vilmos Zigmond (ASC) and Lazlo Kovacs (ASC). 'Avchetan' also won National award (Rajat Kamal) for best social issue based short-fiction film the same year. Her Diploma film (Saankal) was selected for its cinematography to participate in 'Camerimage' Poland 2005, a festival which showcases best cinematography works of the World.
Her independent documentary film on migration, 'Fire in the Belly' is currently in the making.
