Prof. Kanish Debnath

FPM in Agriculture from IIM-A; Bachelor of Technology


Kanish is a Fellow of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. During his stay at IIMA, he has been a part of many research projects for both the Government and Private organizations. In 2015, his research proposal was selected for a grant in the ‘NSE-IFMR Finance Foundation (IFF) Financial Deepening & Household Finance Research Initiative’. In 2015 again, he was nominated from IIMA to attend the Doctoral Consortium at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. In 2014 and 2015, he was a Visiting Lecturer for the Masters in Agribusiness Economics program at Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune. In 2013, he was the student coordinator for the IIMA Doctoral Colloquium that was attended by over 150 participants.


He has some publications and two book reviews to his credit.
His areas of research have been rural development and community improvement strategies for financial, social and economic inclusion. He enjoys being part of research teams and also travelling to gain deeper understanding of unsolved issues in social welfare. Prior to joining IIM Ahmedabad, he was working at Infosys Technologies for around three years and he has a bachelor degree in Technology from West Bengal University of Technology.
