Pinaki Roy is an Assistant Professor in Marketing at FLAME University. He holds a doctoral degree in Marketing from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Pinaki has completed thesis on the 'Strategic View of Refurbished Goods' in 2018 from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA). His work included 3 essays exploring the strategic uses of Refurbished Goods in the pricing of the new product as well as the refurbished product. His other areas of interest are Pricing, Brands, Digital Marketing and Content Marketing. His body of research includes areas such as banking and social embeddedness, media and contraceptive use, electric vehicles, and consumer brand relationships. He has published 1 A grade paper, 1 B grade paper, and 2 other publications of minor value (ABDC). He has also been awarded the 'Best Case in Entrepreneurship Division' of the ISB-Ivey Global Case Competition, subsequent to which his case has been entered into the Ivey Publishing Case unit.
Pinaki has taught in institutions such as GIM (Consumer Behaviour Elective), IIM Bodh Gaya (IMC elective), National School of Design (NID), Ahmedabad (Strategic Marketing for Designers), and BK School of Management, Ahmedabad (Business Management Games). He is currently working on publishing his thesis papers and another work on Mathematical Modelling of Marketing phenomenon (also in the area of Refurbished goods).
