Dr. Pavan Mamidi, co-Director of the Centre for Experimental Social Sciences (CESS) Nuffield – FLAME University, was invited speak at the 13th India Innovation Summit organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Bangalore. CII’s annual India Innovation Summit gathers thought leaders, innovators, and investors from all over the world to discuss emerging trends in industry and society.
Dr. Mamidi was one of four speakers in a panel discussion on Society and Innovation. The other panelists were Mr. Niklas Gustafsson, Chief Sustainability Officer at the Volvo Group, Sweden; Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Director of the Pahle India Foundation; and Prof. Shailendra Mehta, Vice Chancellor of MICA. The panel explored the intersection of innovation with important cultural values such as identity and ethnicity, emphasizing the potential of this juncture to strengthen India’s national wealth. The India Innovation Summit featured other prominent speakers such as Mr. Priyank Kharge, Minister of State IT, BT & Tourism, Government of Karnataka and Mr. R V Deshpande, Minister for Large & Medium Industries and Infrastructure, Government of Karnataka.
