FLAME has a very unique location and it is working towards complete sustainability. It has a sprawling campus in the Western Ghats; a mountain range identified by conservationists as a BIODIVERSITY HOTSPOT. The term biodiversity hotspot specifically refers to 25 biologically rich areas around the world that support nearly 60 percent of the world's plant, bird, mammal, reptile, and amphibian species. The Biodiversity Tour will enable interested delegates to appreciate the rich flora and fauna of the Western Ghats with a special focus on the native plants that have been used extensively in traditional medical practices. The tour will be led by Prof. Hector Andrade. Those interested are requested to register for the tour which will begin at 7.00 am on the 6th of January and end in time for breakfast.
