FLAME was founded in 2004 by two visionaries, Nemish Shah and Parag Shah. A strong reaction against the rigidity, aridity and empty formalism of a syllabus-bound educational system led to a journey in pedagogic innovation. A desire was born, to enhance formal education with traditional knowledge through a progressive methodology. The pedagogical structure comprising the FSLE, FSB and FSC emerged after substantial discussions with distinguished intellectuals, scholars, philosophers and educationists. This structure is specifically designed to surmount the educational crisis in the contemporary scenario that insists on evaluating educational outcome in quantitative capsules.
The chief aim of FLAME FSLE program is:
- To offer a flexible educational pattern that encourages inter-disciplinary studies.
- To liberate minds from narrow, compartmentalized thought processes, and equip learners with a more comprehensive approach to life.
- To develop the ability and the disposition to make decisions based on fact and take action through rational thinking.
- To instill traditional values with pragmatism and revive guru-shishya ethos through an active mentorship program.
- To cultivate research abilities and motivate learners to explore a subject laterally and vertically.
- To equip learners with the capacity to adapt in situations of inter-personal conflict by instilling the values of pluralism, mutual understanding and peace.
- To sensitize them to emotion an expression through varied works of arts.
- To encourage learners to become self-reliant, assertive and creative and motivate them to venture beyond the known realms of knowledge instead of replicating the existing forms.
