Why Study Justice?
The opposite of anarchy as well as despotism is an orderly society. In an orderly society, the rule of law must prevail. The rule of law means the rule of a just law. Equity, justice and good conscience are the main gateways of law. How does such a law come into being? How were customs the earliest source of law? How did common law evolve and grow? |

What is constitutionalism? It is the need of every citizen, to know at least the basics of these terminologies, their meaning and implications. Hence, the inevitable requisite to study justice. The course examines questions such as: what is justice, and does the legal system achieve it? What ethical and legal rules should govern the activities of governments and corporations? What ethical, social and legal issues arise from problems of gender, power, class, race, and our relationship with the environment?
