What does it mean ‘to be educated’?
Is it just the acquisition of a degree. . .
or
Is it an awareness?

Education must provide tools that help students to constantly enquire, explore, discover. . .  new ways of thinking, critically analyzing, creatively conceptualizing. . .  The idea behind FLAME is to help students free themselves from the traditional ways of looking at things and instead to constantly question and challenge themselves, society and the world at large.

FLAME will endeavor to teach and train students to become enlightened and members of society. . .  good, caring and responsible citizens.

FLAME will encourage teaching based on the principle: "Learning is the beginning of a journey with no end." – a pedagogy that is anchored in the ancient and traditional Guru-Shishya ethos.

FLAME will ensure that, in addition to formal knowledge in their chosen subject, students will also be grounded in values and ethics, will have perspective and context, will be culturally and socially aware, will have excellent communication skills. . .  all that is needed to ‘make a difference’.

The ultimate aim of Liberal Education, therefore, is to empower students to simultaneously question the status quo while being at peace with themselves and their environment.
