Russell was originally born and brought up in the United Kingdom, attending one of the few remaining Grammar schools in the country, before moving into the corporate world as both a manager and a teacher.
 
He worked for a number of top companies, including Aviva, Prudential, and the Disney organization, before becoming an off ashore migration consultant, moving to India four years ago to work with a number of India’s top companies. From there he set up his own training company teaching English, written and spoken communication skills, confidence building, and public speaking. His work involved teaching with many of India’s top BPOs and RPOs, as well as students from schools such as Symbiosis and MIT. He has taught language skills to students from around the world, including India, China, Sri Lanka, and the Middle East.

Russell has also practiced and studied sports for over 30 years, including football, basketball and martial arts, as well as coaching in both the UK and India. He has studied and taught improvisational theatre with Theatresports and Theatre Du Complicite, as well as studying circus and performance skills. He is also involved in several animal rescue charities in Pune.

Russell is currently working as Head of Sports at Flame, and will also be teaching subjects including English, creative writing, and improvisational theatre.
