Hoshiar Mal studied Solid State Technology and Microwave Electronics for his M.Tech. He achieved academic honors and distinctions in Mathematics and Physics throughout his studies right from his Senior Secondary School Examinations. He gave up the opportunities as a Research Fellow at prestigious organizations such as Institute of Physics Bhubaneswar, Inter University Consortium for Department of Atomic Energy Facilities Indore, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research Bangalore, in favour of his teaching career.

He has earned considerable experience in teaching advanced level of Mathematics and Physics courses for pre-university and undergraduate level students. He has taught advanced level Mathematics and Mechanics courses to pre-university students of Edexcel syllabus (University of Cambridge, London) as a Lecturer under the Ministry of Education, Republic of Maldives, He has also taught rigorous courses of pre-university Physics as a Lecturer at FIITJEE, Delhi.
