“TRANSFORMATIVE ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE RESEARCH IN LATIN AMERICA”
Iokiñe Rodríguez is a Venezuelan sociologist, with an M.Phil. in Environment and Development from the University of Cambridge, England, a Ph.D. in Development Studies from the University of Sussex, England. She specializes in local environmental knowledge and conflict transformation using participatory action-research. In close collaboration with Latin American Institutions she seeks to contribute to a regional specific conflict transformation approach to environmental conflicts, focusing on issues of local history, power, environmental justice, equity and intercultural dialogue. She is the co-founder of Grupo Confluencias, a network of Latin American practitioners, researchers and institutions for joint research, deliberation, and training on environmental conflict transformation, and is member of the Global Environmental Justice Group from the School of International Development, University of East Anglia (UEA).
