To provide necessary support to students there is a well-equipped and qualified team in the sports office that creates and provides continuous support, amenities and opportunities for students to explore new perspectives, experiences and challenges through competitive and friendly games.
Every year FLAME hosts a number inter-house sports competitions as well as seminars from top sports instructors and coaches. FLAME conducts its own Cricket League as well as its Football League. The teams for the leagues are formed by drawing inspiration from the format followed by the Indian Premier League. Mock auctions are conducted where team leaders are asked to form their teams. In addition to showcasing their sporting skills, this allows students to improve their strategic, management and leadership skills as well.
Leveraging on its excellent sport facilities, FLAME hosts its inter-collegiate sports competition called Kurukshetra every year. More than 75 colleges compete against each other in sports like football, basketball, volleyball, throw ball, tennis, badminton, table tennis, snooker and cricket. The event brings together sports enthusiasts from Pune and across India. In the past, Mr. Geet Sethi, Mr. Kiran More, Mr. Chandu Borde, Mr. Nandan Bal and Mr Viren Rasquinha have graced the competition. Kurukshetra’s continuous success has helped further FLAME’s commitment to providing students opportunities for participation in various cultural, sporting and adventure activities that not only hone their intelligence but also inculcate such qualities as self-confidence, determination, integrity and sociability.
