FLAME Sports Fest ‘Kurukshetra 2012’

Introduction of a Cross-Country Marathon (7kms) ‘Run for a Cause’, along with Football, Basketball and Cricket among others.

NIVIA – Manufacturers of Sports Equipment is the Equipment Partner while CLUB SOLARIS is the Fitness Partner. The event sponsors have been present for more than 10 years in the Fitness Industry, Pune.

Other Highlights at ‘Kurukshetra 2012’:

  • India’s eminent cueist, Mr. Geet Sethi, will be gracing the event as a Chief Guest on the closing day and presenting the Awards to the winners of various events.
  • This four day tournament has received confirmed participations from 40 colleges from Mumbai, Bangalore and Pune.
  • Online registrations for ‘Kurukshetra 2012’ are open for colleges in India at -www.kurukshetra.flame.edu.in.
  • A plethora of events such as ‘Step Over’ (Football), ‘Shuttle Space’ (Men & Women – Badminton), ‘Smokin’ Aces’ (Men & Women – Tennis), ‘Slam Dunk’
  • (Men & Women – Basketball), ‘Top Spin’ (Open Doubles – Table Tennis), ‘Dive In’ (Men & Women – Swimming), ‘Spike it Up’ (Men & Women – Volleyball) and ‘Corner’d’
  • (Singles – Snooker) will get under way during this fest.
  • Its first ever Cross-Country Marathon of 7 kms will be a ‘Run for a Cause’.
  • The 16 overs Leather Ball Cricket fixture ‘Stump’d’ will take place at the state-of-the-art lush green Cricket field at FLAME campus.
  • There will also be ‘Roll it Up’ (Throwball), a ‘women’s only match.

About Kurukshetra: The fest has emerged as a successful socio-cultural experiment in together bringing sports addicts from Pune and now other cities as well.

The previous year saw electrifying moments with more than 45 colleges participating in over 10 events. ‘Kurukshetra 2010’ was inaugurated by Mr. Chandu Borde, an Ex-Cricketer and former Chairperson of The Indian Cricket Selection Committee. The prize distribution was done by Mr. Nandan Bal, India’s Davis Cup Coach.

About FLAME: In the year 2004, the foundation for India’s first school for liberal education was laid by the founders – Mr. Parag Shah, (Former Founder Chairman) and Mr. Nemish Shah (Founder Director).
